Patricia Duffey

Hello My Name Is...

Mrs. Patricia Duffey

I am a New Orleans native and graduate of Louisiana State University, where I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature and history. During the summers of my undergraduate years, I studied literature, history, art, German, and philosophy at the Universitat Innsbruck, in the Austrian alps. I earned a Master of Education degree from William Carey College, later receiving a fellowship to participate in the South Mississippi Writing Project, through the National Writing Project based in Breadloaf, Vermont. I have enjoyed teaching the strands of language arts to middle grade students in public schools for 20 years.

My family became a part of the Hickory community in 2000, and I joined the staff of Northview Middle School in January of 2001. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling with my husband to visit my sons, who are pursuing careers in Silicon Valley and New Orleans, as well as cooking, gardening, attending concerts, and reading all forms of literature.
