Important Health Reminders for Parents/Students:

-          Students cannot carry any medication on campus without a doctor’s order. If your student needs medication at school, please have your doctor complete the medication order form.

-          Please keep the school nurse informed of your student’s health conditions.

-          All students entering 7th grade must receive a dose of the TDaP and Meningococcal vaccines according to NC Public Schools Laws. For more information, please visit https://immunization.dph.ncdhhs.gov/schools/k-12.htm.

-          All student entering a NC Public School for the first time are required to have a Health Assessment on file.

-          Students with food allergies must have a diet order form completed.

 

Health Services Available Include:

-          Vision screenings: NC required 7th grade vision screenings; individual screenings as needed

-          Review Immunization Records for all students, ensure compliance with NC laws for required vaccines.

-          Develop and update health plans for students with chronic medical conditions.

-          Case management for students with chronic medical conditions or health concerns needing follow-up.

-          Serves as consultant and resource for health, safety, communicable disease control and wellness promotion.

-          Oversee medication administration.

-          Educate school staff on first aid procedures and chronic medical conditions in the student population.

-          Training for Medical Emergency Response Team.

-          Health promotion and education for students.

-          Care for ill/injured students.

-          Provides resources for medical care.
